It is a well-known fact that the allies faked hundreds of images after the war, for the purposes of psychological warfare against the German people. These images were part of the re-education program, which also included such goofy hoaxes as Jew-skin lampshades and Jew soap.
The Soviets were in fact faking pictures during the war, for the purpose of propagandizing their own people. Here are a few of those.

Oh my, Walter Cruger, an evil Waffen SS man, about to hang a poor farmer woman from the barrel of a tank!

Look at these evil Nazis. Laughing at the cabin-dwelling peasant woman they just killed for her geese, leaving her poor son pulling at her skirt. What a couple of rotten scoundrels.
Whoops! I guess they didn’t commit a war crime to get these geese after all (although the farm house behind them does look suspiciously like a homicidal gas chamber).
What a scumbag. Executing these poor unarmed women, simply because he is an evil Nazi filled with hatred.

Please note that Hitler and the “Nazis” did not ever engage in this type of fakery. Only the Soviets and the rest of the allies were willing to sink this low.
Even with computers and the internet having been used to prove that hundreds of images were faked during and after World War Two for the purpose of demonizing Hitler and the NSDAP, the governments responsible have yet to apologize or even acknowledge this large-scale hoaxing operation.
